Frequently asked questions

Below are some of the questions that we are commonly asked from customers:

Are you a certified electrician?

Our electrician, David Thompson is a West Virginia certified journeyman electrician

Being a journeyman electrician, are you limited in the costs of the electrical work that you perform?

According to the West Virginia Division of Labor: Due to my being ONLY a Journeyman Electrician in West Virginia, I inquired the WV Division of Labor as to what my limitations were regarding performing electrical work and this was their response:  "If doing work under $5,000 material and labor for residential and $25,000 for commercial, then you will just need your business license and your journeyman license. Total cost of project means everything going on onsite not just what you are doing."

How long have you been doing electrical work?

I started performing electrical work in the U.S. Navy in 1990.  I worked in the private electrical industry from 1994 to 2000.  I have always done small electrical projects on the side.  I am still a licensed journeyman electrician and have been in business since 2022.

Are you an electrical contractor?

No!  I am not an electrical contractor, so I am limited in the services that I can provide.
